In this section, I answer common questions about setting up and using RockTrackR. I’ll walk you through typical settings and address topics that come up frequently. This FAQ grows along with the app to make your RockTrackR experience as smooth as possible.
General
What do the buttons in the app mean?
GEneral

Zoom: Opens the current view—such as a map, image, or setlist—in full-screen mode. The content remains unchanged.

Delete: Permanently removes existing data (like images or setlists) after a confirmation prompt. Note: This action is final and cannot be undone.

Refresh: Updates the currently displayed data, such as your news feed content, by fetching the latest information.

Reset: Reverts selected settings (e.g., active filters or sorting) back to their default values.
Maps

Open in Maps: Launches the Apple Maps app to show the event location. This view opens outside of RockTrackR.

Setlist upload: Enables setlist uploads via CSV file.

Edit Setlist: Allows you to manually manage a setlist. You can add, modify, or remove songs here.

Fetch Setlist (API): Attempts to find a matching setlist via a REST API based on the event name, location, and date. Found setlists can be imported directly.

Ticket

Import Ticket: Allows you to import a photo of an event ticket from your media library or via file selection.
PHotos & Videos

News Feeds

Mark All as Read: Flags all entries in the news feed as read. The content remains but will be visually categorized as read.

Hide Read: Filters out news entries you’ve already seen. You can toggle this filter off at any time.
FIND Events

Create Event: Directly creates a new event in the app from a search result. All available information from the search is automatically imported.
Statistics

Toggle Chart Type: Switches the statistics view between bar and line charts. The underlying data remains the same.
How does the weather forecast work?
Accordion ContentThe weather forecast is displayed directly within the countdown on your HomeView. For the data to appear, two conditions must be met:
Timeframe: To ensure accuracy, weather data is only available and displayed if the event is scheduled within the next 10 days.
Location: The upcoming event must have a designated venue or location.
How long does it take to sync my events?
RockTrackR uses Apple’s iCloud to securely and automatically sync your data across all your devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac).
Please note: After a fresh installation, your event list will initially appear empty. iOS and macOS handle the data sync automatically in the background. Since this process is managed by system services, the exact timing cannot be precisely predicted. Usually, your events will appear within a few minutes. However, depending on your internet connection, it may occasionally take a bit longer.
Note: For the sync to work, you must be signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices and ensure that iCloud Drive(or iCloud for RockTrackR) is enabled in your system settings.
Why isn’t the player starting or playing any music?
If the player doesn’t start when using the “Play Setlist” Quick Action or when trying to play a single song from an event’s setlist, please check the following:
- Apple Music Subscription: Ensure you have an active Apple Music subscription, as RockTrackR relies on the official Apple Music integration.
- System Initialization: After an iOS update, the connection between third-party apps and the music system sometimes needs a manual “nudge.” If you encounter issues, please open the Apple Music app directly and play any song for a few seconds. After doing this, playback via RockTrackR should work as expected again.
Setlists
How to Import Setlists via CSV File
RockTrackR allows you to import setlists directly from a CSV file. This is a fast and organized way to add songs without manual entry. You can find the import option within the app’s Setlist Management.
Important: If a setlist already exists for an event, RockTrackR will ask for your confirmation before overwriting it. The existing data will only be replaced once you confirm.
File Format
To ensure a smooth import, your CSV file must follow these rules:
- The first line is a header and will be ignored during import.
- Every line from the second row onwards represents one song.
- Each line can contain one to three comma-separated values:
<title>[,<info>[,<encore_no>]]
Field Definitions
- title (Pflicht): The name of the song.
- info (optional): Additional details, such as notes or cover information.
- encore_no (optional): The encore number (e.g.,
1for the first encore).
Note: If you don’t need an optional field, you can leave it blank, but the comma placeholder must still be present.
Example
title,info,encore_no
We Will Rock You, covered, 0
It's a kind of Magic, Queen cover, 0
Yellow Submarine, , 1
Always look on the bright side of Life, tribute to Monty Python, 2
In this example, the first two songs are imported as regular setlist items (encore_no = 0), followed by songs assigned to different encores.
