As development on the iPhone app gains momentum, I have some exciting news to share: RockTrackR is coming to the Mac.
From day one, the vision was to make your concert archive accessible beyond your mobile device. Let’s face it: while the iPhone is perfect for the show itself, the Mac is where the “big picture” happens. A larger screen offers a much better overview of your data, makes statistics truly shine, and provides the comfort you need when managing extensive archives.
Why macOS—and Why the Wait?
Technically, the macOS app shares its DNA with the iPhone version. However, “sharing a foundation” doesn’t mean it’s a simple port. To make the app feel like a true Mac experience—and not just a blown-up mobile screen—I’m taking the time to refine the interface and navigation for the desktop.
Here’s the reality of the timeline:
- The macOS version will not launch alongside the iPhone app.
- It’s going to take some time—certainly more than just a few weeks—to reach the level of polish I’m aiming for.
iPhone First, Mac to Follow
Right now, my focus is 100% on the iPhone app. It’s the heart of the project, and it needs to be rock-solid and intuitive before I pivot. Only once the mobile experience is perfected will the macOS version get the dedicated attention it deserves.
That said, early internal builds on macOS already prove that the concept translates beautifully to the desktop. It’s a great feeling to see the vision come to life on a larger scale, and it confirms that we’re on the right track.
The Road Ahead
Once the iPhone app is out in the wild and performing well, macOS development will move into high gear. My long-term goal is a seamless, high-quality ecosystem across both platforms—without cutting corners.
I’ll keep you posted with regular updates right here. Stay tuned!
